Rumor has it that Outlerlimits announced a works boat to enter the P1 season in 2007. Supposed to have been announced at the Miami boat show?

Has anyone been to the show or seen the announcement?

I'm sure you've already seen this Dragon but I guess this confirms the rumor.

Here's a picture

I guess they have to remove the canopy if they want to race in P1
It would be interesting to know what it weighs if it was averaging 100mph!

Why do your rules say that the canopy top have to be so big of a opening ? All boats with fully inclosed top are proven to be much safer !

Welcome to Proprider T/Motorsports.

The reason for the large opening has something to do I believe with the fact that P1 races under UIM pleasure/navigation rules rather than offshore racing rules. It's also the reason that the boats are limited as to speed.

Dragon can explain this alot better than I can.

Ben is correct ... The P1 boats race under Pleasure Navigation and therefore rather than force them to have canopies, they restrict the top speed using the power to weight ratios and average speed.
SuperSport have to weigh 4.5kg for every 1hp, and Evolution 3.5kg for every 1hp

Most the racers prefer not to have a full canopy, but many do have partial ones. With the partial canopies, the same rules apply as with full ones.
E.g. Seat belts/restraints are required as is an air supply.
