Why do they run a series with only one starter (i think there were 4 or 5 seperate classes with this ). Is it that they have outlayed the series and so have to compete for the sake of the sponsors or that it was just this race that there were so few starters and others will race in future races?

Most of the cats are racing with OSS. OSS lists 22 entries in their 'Cat' and 'Cat Lite' classes for 2007. The SBI equivalent, 'Superboat' and 'Super Cat' have 4.

Not really sure why a race class would run if only 1 boat had registered to compete in it for the year unless it's run as an exhibition class.

Exhibition class being something like the turbines, where i guess they are trying to make it more popular and introduce it as a mainstream class?

With the Super Bowl the next day the Hotels where 5 times the normal price. That kept most of the teams away from this event.

That clears it up a bit, was it just a few teams or most of the fleet?

Welcome to Proprider BTMarine.

What's do you think of the new Offshore Super Cats Pro Series?

We are in the Pro Series. The group put this series together so there will be more boats at the sites we have chosen. The races where chosen for the best course and the most fans not to be associated with any one organization. The Pro Series boats were trying to make this race, however, some teams were waiting on parts after the Worlds. Most of the local teams came and raced and some just showed up with their equipment to help put on a show.
