Some nice pictures Ben. On the subject of old(er) boats. I was wondering if you could let me know what either of these two boats are. I'm a bit too young & born on the wrong side of the pond to know! :rolleyes:
I think 'ACR' may be a Manta, but I cant find any info on them to compare or find out if Mantas were/are a derivative of another boat of that era.

The white one is a Scarab. The other, not certain but I'm pretty sure it's not a Manta as Mantas were pretty high sided.
I'll see if I can find out.

I know that ACR did run a Manta....I'll see if I can find any photos in the archives. The deck of this boat almost looks like a Velocity ....but the peak doesn't run high enough.
The letter P and the three outboards show it was in the 70's sometime...I'll do some digging and check back.

28' Manta, originally commissioned by Lance Ruble(past & present owner of ACR Electronics) in 1982 new, from Tommy at Manta, as a race boat. Rigged new with triple Mercury 2.4 Offshore Hi-Performance Division carbureted engines. Raced for two years & rerigged with Mercury's first 2.4 EFI Offshore motors & raced for a number of years after. Multi/sequential year Offshore National & World Championships in class, beginning with its first year on the water.
