There has been much discussion about the direction our sport should take. Inshore or offshore courses, multi-lap or endurance type racing etc.

The following was posted by a member of this forum on another site describing an event planned for the 2009 season.

it's nice to please the spectators, but they don't pay for the event to happen, and sponsors are thin on the ground, have been for years, and I think it's utter folly to think we're going to find any, given the green issues etc, not to mention the fact that we haven't found them for years, even when the green issues didn't exist.

So, it's down to the racers and the occasional private sponsor to fund racing, therefore the boats will run a course most desired by them, and that gives the least resistance from the authorities

Your opinion?

With the series having fixed rules on powertrain there is no push to make greener boat.

Maybe they should allow hybrid type systems into p1 and the other groups so that race inshore/offshore so that you could attract green sponsors. We made a boat this year with small cubic inch, multispeeds. It is not legal in evo but it should be. We could have run it on E85. You know evolution.

If alternatives were allowed then you could broaden the field of sponsors to choose from.
