What's amazing is that with 8 250hp engines in ONLY does 70mph ... you would think it would go a lot faster :D

I think that was 70 with cargo - it was doing 50 with 6 tonnes of shingle on board!
btw did i have a post taken down? Or am i just imagining i wrote on this thread before?

Must be an unbelievable amount of drag from all those lower units.
Saw a mathematical forumula somewhere that compares drag with increased horsepower. At some point the drag from an additional engine negates the increase in power. At least that's what I think I read.

I'm sure you're right! There must be a point at which adding more engines simply used more fuel! 900 litres per hour makes our boat seem like an eco friendly hybrid :cool:

Yeh but 900 litres per hour when your payload is potentially worth a million or two is peanuts!
