Hi paper tiger,
hope you realise you have an important piece of Cowes Torquay history there.
She was raced in 63/64/65 by Charles de Selincourt who was also better known as Tommy Sopwith's navigator in both his winning boats Telstar and Miss Enfield 2, he replaced Geoff Fanner who navigated on Thunderbolt.
The Bertram 25 was powered by Mercruisers, Paper Tiger had a 310hp Mercruiser, raced under no 20 then 200 was Bertram Yellow and white.
Please Please remove all that terrible tubing from her she was a very pretty boat in her day..are you restoring to historic spec? hope you are going to join COPOC and the growing band of boats from the 60's in restoration ...you beat our joint bidding for her.
I have some old bertram advertising on my comp will track down and mail you if you give me e.mail
Keep in touch
Mike James COPOC

Hi I am intending to restore her in a simpathetic way but i think we will have to put a diesel engine in her as fuel cost would be prohibitive with petrol,
The biggest problem is the degridation of the foam composite filling any advice will be gratfully recieved.
i'm a bit to old and fat to fall in to often nowadays so some tubing will stay
but I agree the present one is ugly. She had been fitted with a stainless Tuna tower about 3 mtrs high that will definatly not go back on.
I will join the COPOC and keep you posted on progress.
regards Pud.
