The Powerboat P1 SuperSport front-running #47 Silverline Buzzi Bullet team are leading a crop of Powerboat P1 entrants gearing up for a gruelling extra-curricular challenge – the Round Britain race – on June 21-30.

The Round Britain race – a fast-paced 1600-mile, 10-day tour round the coast of the British Isles – is being run for the first time since 1984, and only the third time since 1969 this year. It will be held in the run-up to the next round of the Powerboat P1 championship – the Tunisian Grand Prix of the Sea in Hammamet – which will take place on July 11-13.

Pilot Jan Falkoswki and throttleman Drew Langdon will be joined by Miles Jennings in their MerCruiser-powered Fabio Buzz-designed FB42 Poker Run boat for the event, with Falkowski swapping to the role of navigator, while Jennings will take the pilots’ wheel.

Falkowski – in particular – is used to competing in endurance events, having set benchmarks for the fastest high-latitude crossing of the Atlantic and done record-setting runs from London to Monte Carlo, and in previous Round Britain events. He’s also done the 24 Hours of Rouen alongside throttleman Drew Langdon.

Also taking part in the event is Evolution class pilot Shelley Jory of the #77 Lucas Oil boat, who will be running in the RB3 class #07 Going Lean Sunseeker XRS entry of Dean Gibbs and Neil Holmes. Bidding for outright victory will be a former Powerboat P1 Evolution class entry – the #81 Wettpunkt.com boat of Hannes Bohnic, Max Holzfeind and Ed Williams-Hawkes. Boat designer Fabio Buzzi is also looking to make an impact in hs #177 Red FPT entry in the CC1 Classic Class.

So far as I know it never entered. One of the guys who was aboard it when it did its Round Britain Record attempt was onboard "Gee" for the Round Britain Race and finished first in Historic Class though.

Welcome to Proprider.

Thanks Ben glad to be here. :) You might recognize my name from another boating website whose HQ is in Florida.
