FOR wins RED SEA RALLY in Egypt with D'ieteren sport.

After close call preperations it seems that we only would have 1 rib so we had to joined forces
with D'Iereren sport. Instead 2 Belgian teams we had now 1 big team with the same goal...
Take the titel from last winner in the supersportclass, the Greek TOPLINE 33.
Team FOR SEAREX and D'Ieteren sport had that pottential with following pilots.

Kris Deraedt
Axel Wijffels
Serge Henkens
Rob Klootwijk
Paul Smissaert
Sigfried Greve
Gino Passchier

stage1 Hurghada - Hurghada

We noticed that there where many novice team in the sportsclass as they asked us to plot their GPS for the first
race. How do I plot WAYPOINTS - How do I make a track? Sportif as we are we helped most of the dutch teams
plotting their GPS. Officer of the day " Jean Marie Vanlacker" decided to chance the first leg because of the high waves
norh of waypoint 5. A 40 nm with 2 laps around the Kiftoun el Gebier Island was the new course.
Already 1 minute after the start we knew that we where in a good possition as many teams go the wrong way,
Topline33 and Van Der Valck cut a corner 1 mile before the turnmarker and resulted in penaltypoints, neverless
we lapped Topline33 as they had mechanical problems with 1 engine. After race 1 we had a comfortable 1000 point lead.

stage2 Hurghada - Soma Bay

Even today we showed our goodwill to help some teams out with their GPS. Our today's goal was finishing because
Topline coulden't make it to the startline. Again some teams decided to follow their own track and as we forcasted
the danger of it Van Der Valck ran into a reef and lost it's 250 Yamaha. Many sportdivers will think this is a new hotspot
as their are so many divers there on that reef. A brand new 250 ...what a pitty. Also the British team suffered in high waves
conditions a lost both tubes, instantly the boat sunk and has been added to the Egyptian founa - flora. Lucky nobody
got injured. Again we had a comfortable finish and leading with 2000 points infront the Greeks.

Stage3 Soma Bay - El Gouna

After a well deserved layday we decided to get rid of some ballast because their was hardly no wind or waves.
In convoy we cruised to the Kiftoun el Gebier islands where we wouls start the 3th stage. Was there somone
who had to ran in his new 250 Yam? wink, wink. This 3th stage was very important for us to finish and secure our first place.
Topline33 had a good start and we stayed in his wake for some time... they ended 1st as we secured the 2nd place
good enough for 900 points with already reason to celebrate.

Stage4 El Gouna - Kriftoun Gerbier

This last stage would be the toughest of them all but a formality for us as Topline33 coulden level up with us.
We informed the forcast and knew we would have some big waves on the turnmarker 50 - 51.
Right behind the Greeks we saw they had some hard times taking the waves and we where closing in fast.
To pass them we had to take some risks and knew we good ended in hospital with a broken spine or break the boat,
that was the point we decided to chill down and end in style... finishing the last race.

Welldone Gino.........nice to see that all that testing in proper boats in april/may payed off (ie boats without large condoms down the side.....haha)
Jan says its down to your confidence that a proper safety boat can provide!!!! he maybe biased or just bored!!!! I reckon it was just down to all that luxuary boating, u know....no string thottles etc!!!!this time. A win but no McGiver fun!!! Photos looked good, but would look better if u were being hugged by 3 women rather than guys, but u belgiums like to do it your own way!!!!!!!!!
