WE had 4 good days of racing, Great!
We had 4 days of great weather,
The town of Destin rolled out the red carpet, In my opinion it was successful,
is thier room for improvement yes. This town was only let down by the racer's that did not attend, their were several teams going to KW as well.
Those are the True racer's that want to race, leave the politics to the politicians.

With a fragile economy, towns will not support these type of events, because someones ego got hurt, or it didnt fit their agenda. Racer's better wake up. I have a ton of pics and will post more later

It's a shame when racers don't fully support an event. Especially when localities have done all they can to make the event succesful.

When I was organizing races for UKOBA (Untited Kingdom Offshore Boating Assoc) in the mid 90s, I recall one local council (town government) had supported a race as best they could for a few years. Each year fewer boats showed up and finally (and understandably) the council just wasn't interested.

On the up side, looking forward to seeing more of your excellent pics!

How about holding the races on different weekends? - Some crews might be able to do both then?

I should say that although I have been to Key West in 2005 I know nothing of the politics and reasons for having the races on the same weekend - it just seems dumb to me - no offence intended!

The OSS championships ended on Sunday the 4th. SBI champs began this week with the first races yesterday. That's why Ryan Beckly is able to do both championships.

We laft Detin Sunday night and drove all night to Key West. There were several other OSS teams that ran BOTH but only one SBI team that ran both.........
TNT Custom Marine, Bermuda BerryCuda, CarCredit411.com, YACHTS Fountain, Miccosukee, Team Lavey Craft, AMSOIL, POPEYES, & Miss GEICO

All these teams ran Double Duty and put in some serious effort and time.....
