Last weekend at the race in Point Pleasant NJ, several of us were invited to be honored as the Legends of Offshore. We joked that they only reason was that they couldn't find any others still alive.

Left to right:

Bobby Saccenti of Apache fame, Rocky Aoki of Benihana fame, John Bochis of Crazy Greek fame, Me, Charlie McCarthy of Top Banana and Billy Martin of Bounty Hunter fame.

Also had a nice opportunity to throttle this boat as the pace boat for the races....triple engine 47 foot Apache.

No this was a brand new boat that was purpose built by Apache to run in the Superboat class. It raced only once in Atlantic City, and won the race in very rough conditions.

The boat was shipped to Michigan for the next race and in the meantime, Kramer was arrested and the Feds confiscated the boat. They held it for many years at the space center in Florida and finally auctoned it off.

This is the 2nd owner and he is maintaining it in pristine race condition....well done, so happy that someone is saving it, instead of stripping it and making a center console or some thing like that, out of it.

These are the original Keith Eickert engines of almost 1,000 HP each.

Well done TB, congratulations.

Nice to see the boat out on the water, hopefully it will be around for a long time to come.
