Nicely done ForTwo. I'm looking forward to the updates over the weekend.

Curious about boats Q8 and 10. Are they wild card boats, safety/official boats and what are they? Q8 looks like a Larry Smith Scarab - 10, I have no idea.

thx Ben & Rupert,
Q8 will be the startboat 4 supersportclass. A fountain will be the evolution startboat. We had official testing today..... nice chop 3-4 blowing N.E, but damn there will be some nice competition, looks like all boats can handle the Nortsea pretty good. I expect to have a nice blasting race 2morrow. Shame some evolutionboats not starting concerning protest ... Wettpunkt - Fainplast - Kiton.
god bless ya anyway !!!

Protest? Anything to do with Cowes or are the oil burners just unhappy that the petrol/gasoline boats are showing them the way home?

Very interesting racing ....

Not really rough, but very mixed and lots of big holes

Lots of damage to boats too ...

Outlerlimits broke a trim tab
OSG had a huge delamination on their second step ... didn't look good :(
Roscioli hotels ran aground when showboating by the pier after the race and damaged their skegs and props
Sunseeker broke an engine mounting
Sun Lik Beer broke a gear box
Buzzi Bullet had a fire after their flares went off

Should be rougher today :D

Dam'n Mike, you're up early. Sounds like it was a very eventful day.

I know you are probably more than a little busy just now but when you have a moment perhaps you could shed some light on the boycott/protest of the Evolution diesel teams?

Have a good one today and make it two for two.

Interesting racing again today in rough conditions.

Searex led in Evolution for a while, King of Shaves apparently had problems, Voom Voom looked likely to win SuperSport but went around a mark on the wrong side and had to turn around and re-take it snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

SuperSport: 1st - Extremboat.Com, 2nd - Voom Voom.Com, 3rd - Roscioli Hotels Roma, 4th - Sun-Lik Beer, 5th - Team Sunseeker

Evolution: 1st - Lucas Oil, 2nd - Searex, 3rd - OSG Donzi, 4th - SIF (wild card), 5th - King of Shaves

Not strictly true ... they hooked right in front of us trying to take one of the turns too tight ... we would have got them before the line having swapped positions several times :D

Some of the best racing we have had ... three way fight with Buzzi Bullet, Hustler and us until Drew broke a throttle cable ... then a two way fight until the last but one turn ... Brilliant racing!!

Have a good one today and make it two for two.

Mostly to do with allowing the American (effectively) canopy boats to race (without their hatches), when the Diesel boats had built "open" canopied boats (per the P1 rules)

... bottom line ... Diesel boats too heavy to compete with the Petrol boats

ForOne race report Zeebrugge Powerboat grand-prix.

Flanders Offshore Racing finished 5th. on the Saturday endurance P1 at Zeebrugge.
With a smooth N.O wind force 2-3 we where ready for 10 laps with a total distance of
79.5 Nautical Miles.

The startprocedure was a straight line towards the F marker where all competitors has choosen
a posistion behind the Q-8 startboat. Halfway we had the green flag and the battle could begin to take
the first turn at the F marker. After 1 lap we already left the
Malteze (Chaudron) - Naue Racing (Germany) and the Chinese (Ocean Dragon) behind us.
After the second lap Buzzi Bullet had a minor fire onboard due the flairbox ignited. For 3 rounds
the Chinese entry Ocean dragon and us played a cat and mice game where we could
cut their corners time after time. Eventualy the gearbox of Ocean dragon blew up so we would try
and hold the 5th posistion with Malta (Chaudron) on our tail. As the weatherconditions where rather
easy we had to let go former worldchampions "EXTREMEBOAT" with Jacky and Mike , also VOOMVOOM - SUNSEEKER and the fast new
41 ft Chaudron from the italian team "Roscioli Hotels Roma" The paradelap before the startlap wad kinda fast
with an average 59 speed, this was not what we expected and used more fuel then we tought. At the end of the race this resulted that we ran out just 150 ft before the finishline... hartbeated we saw buzzi bullet and chaudron approaching, Kris pumped all the left overs we had to starboard engine and Gino could start and afterall finish without losing 5th position.

Ranking
os. - No. - Boat Name - Nationality - Points
1. - 01 - Extremeboat - British - 100

2. - 44 - Roscioli Hotels Roma - Italian - 80

3. - 07 - VoomVoom.com - British - 60

4. - 11 - Team Sunseeker - British - 50

5. - 33 - ForONE - Belgian - 40 (Wild Card)

6. - 0 - Naue Racing - German - 30 (Wild Card)

7. - 46 - Chaudron 2 - Maltese - 20

8. - 47 - Buzzi Bullet - British - 10

08 - Sun Lik Beer - Chinese - DNF

The Sundayrace we had to retire after a broken trimpump already after the paradelap, a sad moment as we wanted to give our Belgian spectators a nice race,
we had the perfect ribconditions for our now retired ForTWO rib. Still I want to end this report with a positive note...
our new Osprey "Condor" rib is on it's way to our race stables and hope we can have a good virgin race with her in Portugal end this month.

We also wanted to thank each supporter who watched the race on Saterday & Sunday and all our co-worker who made a nice event P1
on our home seas and Belgian soil. Special thanks go out to: All our Rib chartering pilots - rescue - buoyboats - yachtowners - Limousine and driver - coordinators - Mechanic - logistic - teammanager - Cameracrew - Helipilot - fotographers en last but not least our sponsors.
