OSS announces change in leadership

Date: 19 July 2007

Biloxi, MS -- The Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association (OSS) Board of Directors voted Tuesday night to have Ray Delaney act as interim President. Delaney was elected as Vice President of the OSS Board in November 2006 and has served on the board since 2005.

Tuesday’s election was necessary when Billy Mauff resigned his position from the board. Mauff sent his letter of resignation to the OSS headquarters on Friday. He served on the OSS Board since its inception in 2003.

“Billy Mauff’s contribution to the overall creation of OSS is humbling,” said Misty Velásquez, OSS Executive Director. “All of us in OSS have benefited from his generosity and dedication.”

The OSS Board of Directors will hold an election in the near future to decide the next President.

Wonder what happened?

Is the Merc only 850 class a flop that Mr. Mauff pushed through?

From what I can tell, it seems only 3 or 4 boats competed in the 850 class.

Turns out it was not such a great idea.

He was doing good this year. Nearly his best in a long time. A lot more competitive with the blower motors.

But, that class that he pushed in with Mercury's hand on his shoulders seems to have been a prelude to a screwing of the racers and they rebutted and left.

Some things never change.
