Searex Germany, the Powerboat P1 World Championship's only German contender for the 2007 title, has confirmed that it will race in the Evolution Class for the remainder of the season. Starting at the German Grand Prix of the Sea, the team will be hoping that the support of a partisan crowd and local knowledge will hold it in good stead during the three day event, hosted in Travemunde, that commences on Friday 29th June.

Originally the team, piloted by owner throttleman Siegfried Greve and Kurt Prufert, was to race in the production class but a change of mind, accompanied by a change in boat and engines, will now see the German team take on some of the world's finest muscle machines with a 42ft Fountain powered by Mercury engines.

19 racing craft from around the world are confirmed for the Powerboat P1 German Grand Prix of the Sea, with both classes now providing the crowds with a local entry to add to the excitement of this spectacular powerboating festival.

Searex Germany will compete against teams from Austria, UK, Italy and the US in Evolution whilst Naue Racing, a 'Wild Card' entry from Germany piloted by Fabian Kalsow and Anton Naue, will take on the might of Europe's finest in the Supersport category with their Yanmar-powered Sunseeker XS2000.
